SITE DETAIL / TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEYS
A site detail or topographic survey defines natural and artificial features such as buildings, vegetation
and services within a defined area. These plans are usually prepared for architects, planners, landscape architects and civil engineers to enable design work to be undertaken and to accompany Development Applications (DA's) to council.
Following the survey fieldwork, a plan showing the property boundaries, its dimensions and any
Easements or Rights of Way, is prepared to scale using a CAD package.
THE PLAN WILL ALSO TYPICALLY INCLUDE
- true north point
- centreline of road plus footpaths, kerbs, access driveway and crossings
- visible utilities (water, sewer, power, gas, telephone, etc.)
- location and level of stormwater pits including invert
- banks, rock outcrops and retaining walls
- significant trees (trunk diameter, canopy spread and approx. height)
- spot heights with contours at 0.5 metre intervals or better
- AHD bench mark
- position of subject building including floor, balcony, gutter, parapet & roof levels
- approximate position of adjoining buildings together with facing window positions (including heights)
- floor, balcony, gutter, parapet & roof levels of adjoining buildings
- other prominent features
- AutoCAD file and hardcopies
